Hi, welcome, or welcome back! In this post, I'll be talking a bit about spring cleaning. All of April, I've been spring cleaning! I am no expert. While I enjoy a clean room, I can't say my home is clean all the time, but it's usually tidy. I still have a lot to learn about cleaning! I think I should defer to some people I look to for advice on cleaning on YouTube, channels like Clean That Up, Clutter Bug, and That Practical Mom are my favorites, and they also seem like really cool people.
I've always felt that spring cleaning is a bunch of things I don't want to do, but they are tasks that need to get done. My best piece of advice to make these tasks tolerable, I play music or listen to podcasts, and sometimes I'll have a show on the TV. With that in mind, here are some more ideas I have about spring cleaning!
The How of Spring Cleaning
For my spring cleaning this year, I got my planner and went room by room, making a list of everything that needed to be done. It was overwhelming! Then, I began thinking about how and when I could tackle each task. I recently heard someone say they do the easiest thing first, but I don't want to be left with just all the hard things to do in a row. I think I'll burn out. I considered my schedule. It was important for me to think about how much time I would have in between caring for my girls, enjoying time with my family, and being a person who does more than just spring clean. So, I landed on allotting 4 hours a day for April dedicated to spring cleaning, and of course, there were several days where it didn't get to do any cleaning, but I still got everything done that I wanted within the time frame. This arrangement was manageable to me.

The Doing of Spring Cleaning
Since it's still cold in Utah, I could only tackle indoor spring cleaning! I found having a cleaning kit to bring with me to every room was nice. Before I started on a room, if there was something I needed (like a vacuum or steam cleaner). I would make sure to grab it before I started so that I didn't have to stop to find and get the thing. Once I got started on something, it seemed like those four hours a day flew by. I was finding some rooms needed more time than others, which is fine, because spring ends in mid-June, and I don't have to limit myself to one month, and I'll get to it eventually. I hope that as you read this, at the end of April, even if you haven't started yet, there is still time to tackle your spring-cleaning list. I would say, too, if you don't spring clean at all, and maybe you just do normal weekly cleaning, that is ok too! The best advice I got from Bluey the mom, Chili says, "Just run your own race."
My Cleaning Kit
I picked up this caddy last year to keep all of my cleaners and some supplies contained, and the handle on this makes it easy to move around the house. I didn't have to stop a task to go find something, it was all right there ready to go!

Reward Yourself!
At the end of a big project, I love to sit back and admire all the work that I've done. I like to cross things off a list, and it is so satisfying to see all the tasks done. Now I feel like I can move on and think about other projects! In particular, I'm daydreaming daily about getting the outside of my home cleaned up and decorated, and for sure, my garden ready for spring! Until next time, see ya!
